Hi Guys! Firstly a MASSIVE thanks to Infinitio Buzzy (@Infinitio_Buzz) for my amazing new logo! I am delighted with it and it will adorn all my future blogs!
Thanks again to everyone who read and posted about issue 1's interview with Benson, it got much more feedback than I could have hoped for!
Second up for the Grumpy Gamer interview experience is Pro Gamer Tricked Mak aka Scott Brass. Some will know Scott from his time with Curse, and he recently joined the Tricked Esports squad to try to enhance their prospects!
So without further ado....here's the interview:
1 - Grumpy Gamer (GG) What lead you into Pro Gaming?
Tricked Mak (TM) - I think like most pro gamers, you almost fall into it. I don't really know anyone who decided that they were going to be a pro at something that they didn't already enjoy and were good at. I think its like any hobby, if you at good enough at something, then you can normally make something out of it.
2 - GG - What do you feel sets a Pro player apart from a public player?
TM - I don't want to say that its that Pro Players care more, but in a sense its true. I think that if you know that you are good enough to be winning and succeeding at things, then it drives you on and gives you ambition.
3 - GG - What are the Pros and Cons of attending so many events?
TM -Well the Pro’s are the obviously ones, you get to compete at something you are passionate about, you get to spend time with people that you spend a lot of your time talking too, and best of all you get the shot at winning something. The cons depend on the individual, for me, its time away from my friends and girlfriend, and means that I need time off work, which isn't always easy.
4 - GG - Whats your feelings on organisations and players changing teams a lot?
TM - Honestly I don't like to change organisations, that being said sometimes its inevitable, like when an organisation is expecting a standard from you guys and you don't meet it, I understand when that type of thing happens. I don't tend to want to leave organisations that I get along with well and that are supportive of me.
5 - GG - How do you feel pro players view their fans/other public players?
TM - Most of them appreciate their fans and wouldn't be in the position they were without the support and following that they have, for example Optic. Most of the amateur gamers with only a few followers obviously don't really see the impact they have with certain things they say.
6 - GG - What are your thoughts on Trash Talking in matches?
TM - Trash talking is something that adds edge to the game, and cant certainly have an impact on a teams performance, either for the better or worse. If you do something that it worth shouting about and you let the other team know about it, it can give you a boost.
7 - GG - Where do you see eSports and CoD in particular going in the future?
TM - Honestly the past 18 months I think call of duty as a e-sport has grown more in that time, than its entire history combined, and I don't think its showing any signs of slowing down. I'm not sure how many more years I have playing the game but hopefully in that time I get to see if reach out to tones more people.
Thanks once again to Scott for his time in answering my questions and all the best in your time at Tricked!
